There is an advent celebration (posada) for the 12 nights preceding Christmas downtown each night.  Last night we went with three couples and ended up walking in the procession to one of the churches.  There was a stage at the beginning of the procession with persons portraying biblical characters but don’t ask me who they were and why they went to the church.  Afterwards, the bells of the church rang for a long time and they sounded so good.  That was the best part. All the churches are lit up so beautifully.  Each taxi driver takes us on a different route to and from downtown and each time we see more than one pretty church.
