What Are The Chances?

Yesterday I came across a website called Great Retirement Spots  It has a drop down box to select a state and then within the state a list of towns and cities appear that have been chosen as nice places to retire.  I selected Colorado and of course Manitou Springs made the list.  As I read down the page describing our wonderful town,  a You Tube video jumped out at me.  I immediately recognized it as being mine.  Wow, was I ever flattered!  I had actually forgotten that I even had a You Tube channel.  Blogger has an option to add videos to our blogs and I have placed mine in the upper right of the home page.  These are actually not videos, but slideshows put to music using Picasa.

Now I am absolutely not gloating or bragging but have to mention something else while on this subject.  The video was made two years ago of the Manitou Springs Chair Project.  Only professional photographers and videographers were allowed onto the avenue first thing in the morning and then the rest of us could go at 9 a.m.

The pro’s had all sorts of equipment.

After the event was over I went straight home and made the little slideshow and put it on You Tube.  A couple of days later I noticed our city government’s website had it at the top of their home page.  And my video has since stayed at the top of the list on You Tube for the chair project by a very wide margin. What I am saying is that it is possible for our amateur attempts at whatever to be quite well received.

On the other hand, if this had been a competition, I never would have had the self confidence to enter.
