Blaye, France

We’re still meandering from one river town to the next and finding some real gems.  Each town that we have stayed in has had free overnight parking for campers in town next to the river with much to see in the area.
Blaye is on the Gironde estuary north of Bordeaux and has a fortress that was built in the 17th century overlooking the town and estuary.  The camper parking lot sits right between the town and fortress and next to the river.  Last night we could hear the waves gently lapping outside our motor home as the tide came in and raised the little boats that had been sitting on dry land during the afternoon.
See the motor homes between the fortress and estuary?

Steve took all of these pictures and did a pretty good job.  He’s learning and getting better all the time.
