And give me a coma while in the Dallas/Ft Worth airport.
A three hour layover in Dallas was barely enough once we and a few thousand other international travelers snaked in a never ending line to go through immigration.
I wasn’t sure if we had to fetch our checked suitcase to go through customs and every airport official I asked gave me opposing yes or no answers so we played it safe and went to the luggage carousel. And there was our suitcase with the lock and luggage strap missing and no note inside from TSA if they had searched it.
We then went through customs and also found where to recheck our bag. After that we had to go through security again with another very long line and TSA agents angry at the passengers because the monitor instructions were opposite what they wanted everyone to do.
We had wanted to pick up some juice and snacks but only had time to get to our Qatar Airlines gate which had already begun boarding.
The flight was great and the attendants never stopped trying to feed us. I loved my savory breakfast of poached egg, spinach, green beans, mushrooms, and mashed sweet potatoes! That is what a healthy breakfast should be composed of.

I liked following the seat back map showing where we were and generally just exploring the world.

We got off the plane and were free to wander without standing in a single line or having a checkpoint. Two hours was not nearly enough to explore the spacious airport. They have beautiful gardens in the airport amongst all the duty free shops. And what shopping! Every high end brand you can think of is represented. We didn’t dare go in any of them but did visit one shop and bought two packages of dates. The salesman explained the ones in the picture are the most premium dates and are only grown in Medina. We will wait until after boarding the cruise ship to try them as we are not allowed to bring opened packages of good on board.

A most pleasant airport experience!
Great photos, waiting for more!
