is a gravel road that begins in the Garden of the Gods and climbs about 3000 feet towards Woodland Park. It’s a spectacular drive with views of Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs. There are some pretty steep drop offs but the road is wide enough that there is no danger. This link will tell you all about the road which actually goes north for about 60 miles: http://home.pcisys.net/~ronkrob/rampart.htm Once you reach the top there is a right turn to Rampart Reservoir which has some of the best views you’ll ever see of Pikes Peak. The reservoir is a beautiful lake that has a 14 mile path you can walk all the way around. It’s been a few years since I made that walk but it’s one of Steve’s favorite places to ride his bike. We didn’t pull into the reservoir so I don’t have any pictures. The reservoir is a fee area but visiting the Garden of the Gods is still free.
